Standing on the Namestie osloboditelov (“Liberation Square”) in the center of Liptovsky Mikulas, this museum features rich 700-year history of the city.
Museum of Janko Kral, named after a local native – poet Janko Kral, was founded in 1955 as District Museum. In fourteen chapters it tells the story of ordinary people and wealthy burghers; from the first mention of St. Mikulas, through the fate of the famous bandit Janosik, which was executed here, until the end of the World War II.
